Our Story

As husband and wife, we have dreamed for years of owning a business that allows us to bring the beauty of Turkey to the United States. We were married in Turkey in 2016, moved internationally to the U.S. in 2018, and now we are launching our family business in 2021! 

Oguzhan was born and raised in Izmir, Turkey. Izmir is located on the west coast of Turkey right by the Aegean Sea. Oguzhan's heart has always been to help others and provide for his family. Since immigrating to the United States, he has dreamt of taking hold of the opportunity to build a business and remain connected to his Turkish roots. Aegean Roots Co. is just the beginning of that dream being realized.

I (Kelsey) am a California girl who was living overseas for a few years when I met Oguzhan. It was as close to love at first sight as a practical girl like myself was going to get. Our love helped me become fluent in Turkish, learn the culture in new ways as a bride, and experience Turkish family. Although I only spent a total of 5 years in Turkey, Izmir will forever be a place I call home.

We have been big fans of Turkish towels, especially peshtemals, for years and we are so excited to bring this beautiful product stateside. Thank you for supporting our small family business and our dream, Aegean Roots Co.!
